Thanks! Apple has already fixed the Ethernet software problem for users going forward. So IF you have a time machine backup you can restore the system from a 1-2 day earlier backup. I never had a problem with 10.11, and this is someone thats always using the command line.

Edit: This is what I was told to do to fix it, and it worked for me: Open \Macintosh HD\LibraryPreferences\SystemConfiguration and trash NetworkInterfaces.plist Reboot and I haven't had any more issues. Even so, thunderbolt bridge was visible in my networking preferences. Really smooth. If you can connect to WiFi, your Mac will update to version 3.28.2 automatically, or you can follow the steps below to restore it manually. Any idea why it's not working?
