but with the small still working it still can be the aux fan controller as it has a 4-pin 16-pin set up half only working?? I agree you say the larger fan is not coming on but the small is when it is hot enough or when the a/c is used. So first dethatch the power steering lines and then the 13mm bolts and slide that pipe out. Both fans only operate when AC is on. If it is a transmitter then there must be a "conditioning" device which converts the analogue signal into one [or two] digital switch points that energises the fan run relay.............. The cure here is to add a separate relay for the compressor clutch so the clutch can draw full voltage from the battery.
